    Alopecia Areata

    Hey.

    I was just sitting at my computer looking up Alopecia areata on wikipedia...

    I actually was diagnosed with this when I was in 4th grade.
    (It all really makes sense...since it says
    "it is slightly more likely to occur in people who have relatives with autoimmune diseases"
    Because my grandmother died of lupus at the age of 58.)

    I just wanted to learn more about it.
    I have Alopecia areata monolocularis...since I only lose the hair on my scalp...I just lose small chunks at a time(which only happens every few years for ME)...and unfortunately... very recently I found that I am no longer in remission which SUCKS...so I guess I'll have to buy some hats again...but it seems to grow back rather quickly…so that’s good news…since I’m going to be in a wedding in August.

    Just thought it would be interesting to teach some people about something they might not know of.
